November 26th, 2012

Dear mom
thank you for the letter, i got sent to the Branford FL area. my new address is:
(Contact me if you want his snail mail address)
my new area is a mess. these last few days have been trying at best. the good news is that i do like my companion. elder mihu and i came out here on the same flight together, which means that both of us have just finished the in-field traning. neither of us really knows whats going on.elder mihu has a better idea than i do only because he was trained here. so we are just figuring it out as we go. the lord put us here for a reason, but heaven help me if i know why. thanksgiving was my first day here in branford. we had members calling us all day inviting us to eat with them. so we did. we had a thanksgiving lunch and a thanksgiving dinner. we did not go hungery nor will we with all the left overs that were just plain given to us.
winter here is slowly getting colder. the only reason i can really tell is because its always just about freezing in the house. this missionary residence does not have any effective heating system. thus it is always cold. by time the sun comes up its warmer outside than it is inside, and its still cold outside.
its good to know that you are busy and doing well at home. take care of champ for me. love and miss you all
Sincerely,
Elder Ogilvie

Dear mom,

thank you for the letter, i'm glad to know that things are going well at home. champ is a silly dog. at least he knows whats mine. and recognizes that i'm gone. give him a hug for me. you obviously had quite a bit of help to get everything moved out of the Murray house so quickly.

i didn't realize or (just plain forgot) that Kendall has any allergies. i hope the doctors will be able to help her.

the most exciting adventure we had this week was getting the inside door handle fixed on the car here in Williston. the handle has been broken for almost 3 weeks now.my poor companion has had to roll down the window and open the door from the outside every time he has wanted to get out of the car. but no more, we finally got approval to drive to Gainesville to get it fixed. it took us two trips. once to find out what needed to be done and one to get it fixed.

i have loved the time i have spent here. and moving on is at best bittersweet. but i will go where the lord sends me. i have most everything packed up to move to the new area. with exception for what i need tonight and tomorrow morning. i'm trying not to forget anything. i do have some more pictures to send you to.

With lots of love,
Elder Ogilvie

Dear mom,
i'm glad to hear that you are doing well back at home after that last major snowstorm, i don't think we ever had a snowstorm that big while i was at home. the worst storm I've seen while out here happened a couple of weeks ago. it rained so hard that even when sitting still and the windshield wipers going full blast we couldn't see the road in front of us. it was pretty bad. the weather here has gotten funny the humidity can make mornings and night pretty cold but it is still hot during the day. (oh and its still as green as can be out here.) i hope dad gets the Saturn back in one piece and working again. hopefully it wont leak oil anymore.
thank you for taking good care of champ for me.has he finally accepted that i am not there yet? also it is my bishops email address i want. i have president Barry's. as for Christmas and birthday presents. i have most everything i need.(mo-tab and Efy cd's would be nice though)
as for the article, i am just having lots of fun out here in Florida. and i wouldn't trade my experiences here for the world.
transfers are on the 21st and i will be changing areas. which means i will be spending thanks giving with an entirely different group of people. that will be a fun change. where i go only two people know.
thank you for all your support,i hope everything is still going well at home.
With Lots of Love,
Elder Ogilvie

Dear Family,
The missionaries serving in the Florida Jacksonville Mission are meeting for a special Christmas Devotional on Thursday, December 13, 2012. President and Sister Barry would like to request that you (and other members of the family who so desire) write a Christmas letter to your son. We will distribute the letter(s) to him at that special Christmas event.
Please send all correspondence so that our Mission Office will receive it no later thanFriday, November 30, 2012. You have the option of sending it via email to   (Contact Spring or Susan for email address) where we will print it and put it in an envelope with your missionary’s name, or you may send it by mail addressed to your missionary, (Contact Spring or Susan for snail mail address). Because the Mission Office receives mail for individual missionaries occasionally, it is very important that the envelope containing any special letter(s) to him is labeledChristmas Letter and has the Elder ‘s name on it. We do not want one missionary left without something from his family.
This is a surprise, so please don’t tell your missionary.
We feel blessed to have the opportunity of serving with your son here in the Florida Jacksonville Mission. We thank you for sharing him with us for this short time. May the Lord’s blessings be with you and your family during this Christmas season when we celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
Please reply to this email to let me know you have received it.
Sincerely,
Sister Priest

Note from Spring:  Sorry, I'm still wary of putting addresses out there on a public blog.  Find me on fb, email me, call me, stop by my house, whatever.  Let me know if you'd like to send Kyle a Christmas letter.  If you're in Utah, I'm sure my mom would be willing to put it in an envelope with her letter, to save on postage.  Thanks!
